Texas Lawyer, Sara Weddington, who successfully argued the landmark abortion rights case Roe V. Wade b efore the U.S. Supreme Court, passed away at the age of 76.
She had been in poor health and passed away at her home in Austin according to Susan Hays, a former student and colleague of Sara Weddington.
Weddington, raised as a minister’s daughter, became a lawyer and brought a class-action lawsuit on behalf of a pregnant woman challenging a state law that banned abortions.
